Which Doctor Do I Need?
Japan has no GP gatekeeper — you walk straight into the right specialty clinic. That is efficient once you know which door is yours, and baffling until then. Tap your main symptom below and you get the department, its Japanese name, and exactly what to say at reception. This is signposting, not diagnosis — see the first-visit guide for what happens inside.
⚠ Before anything else — call, don't browse, if any of these apply

?What's the main problem?
Pick the symptom that bothers you most. For a child, the answer is usually 小児科 (pediatrics) whatever the symptom — they'll redirect if needed.
Guidance on which clinic type handles what — not medical advice, and not a substitute for judgment about severity. Symptoms that are severe, rapidly worsening, or just frightening: use the numbers above. Full details in the emergency guide.
